Quick validation snapshot

South Carolina has the highest estimate (1.46%); Vermont has the lowest (-0.29%). The U.S. benchmark is 0.52%. These are useful checks when importing the CSV into a spreadsheet. Reference jurisdictions may lie outside the 50-state range, so exclude rows marked reference when reproducing the default state ranks.

Population changes use July 1 estimates from the same Vintage 2025 file. Do not substitute an older vintage for one end of the calculation.

Calculation and reproducibility

100 × (July 2025 population − July 2024 population) / July 2024 population, within Vintage 2025.
