Quick validation snapshot

Maine has the highest estimate (44.9 years); Utah has the lowest (32.5 years). The U.S. benchmark is 39.2 years. These are useful checks when importing the CSV into a spreadsheet. Reference jurisdictions may lie outside the 50-state range, so exclude rows marked reference when reproducing the default state ranks.

Margins of error are 90% survey margins. Preserve them when reshaping the data; an empty cell and a numeric zero have different meanings.

Limits and reuse

A higher median age describes population structure; it is not a measure of health or life expectancy.

This is an independent arrangement of federal statistical data. Cite the named producer for the original observations and Rank the States for computed ranks. Downloading or embedding does not imply government endorsement. Source files are archived with a checksum for reproducibility.
